Our Culture
Construction Demathieu & Bard (CDB) Inc. has been active in the Canadian Heavy Civil Sector since its formation in 1997 in Montreal, Quebec. Since then, CDB’s 25 years of North American experience have grown to include a wide variety of complex heavy civil projects with a specific focus on major dam and hydroelectric projects, structural bridge work, and those within active railways.
CDB is the Canadian subsidiary of Demathieu Bard, founded in 1861, which has grown to become one of the largest privately-owned French family-run companies in the construction sector – with 3,800 employees worldwide. The corporate head office is still found in Metz, France, to this day, with Canadian offices in Peterborough, Ontario, as well as St. Jerome and Montreal, Quebec.
